SHThotWEDDINGS

Hey let's get married!

Those wonderful words that can send shivers down your spine...so much to plan and organise!

Well don't panic! We can help!

So many people leave thoughts of their attire to the last minute because they just don't know where to start. Look no further! We are here to help build suits, match up bridesmaids dresses and best man's ties, linings, make shirts, order ties and handkerchiefs and everything else you can imagine.

We are proud to have made all sorts of wonderful wedding suits for so many lovely clients. Everything from classic morning suits with brightly coloured waistcoats to Dinner Suits for that suave James Bond look, 3 piece tweed suits for an Autumn country wedding and even a strong blue lightweight mohair for a celebration in far off lands. The choice is endless, the choice is yours!

One of our British bespoke suits will take 8-10 weeks to build, this will give us plenty of time for fittings, whether its a morning suit or something totally individual that you fancy. We are here to advise, however, if you find images of a particular style that you like you can bring them along to our first meeting. As it is your big day you should know the colour scheme, or at least have good idea, so we can match up or compliment the wedding party.

Now the BIG question, white or ivory??? That's not your complexion but the colour of the brides dress, if you are having a traditional wedding. It is vital that you match your shirt with the dress in order that nobody looks 'a bit off colour' in the photographs! This is of course unless you decide to wear a contrasting colour which can look incredible. Our British bespoke shirts take 4 weeks to make and you can choose not only the fit and the fabric but also the type of the collar and cuffs. We can also add that personal touch with embroidered initials.

So it's up to you
Just give us a call or pop in

All SHThotSUITS are worn by our wonderful clients and are allUKmade

Susannah Hall Tailors Joins Forces with Trinity Hospice

Susannah Hall Tailors has supported Trinity Hospice over the last few years and in April 2013 decided to get more involved by holding an event where clients were invited to bring in their old ill-fitting suits and jackets which would in turn be donated to Trinity Hospice. This was such a success that we have decided to make it an annual event. So if you have any garments to donate during April 2014 we will swap them for a £50 gift voucher that you can put towards your next bespoke order, one voucher per person.

Clare, our friend from Trinity Hospice, sent a few wonderful examples of how this particular charity has literally made peoples’ dreams come true at the most crucial time of their lives.

Trinity Hospice is often described as a ‘haven’ by patients and families who have spent time there.  The state-of-the-art inpatient centre and award winning gardens in Clapham provide a beautiful setting for Trinity’s expert care. But it’s not the facilities that make Trinity such a special place – it’s the people.

Trinity’s team of nurses, doctors and therapists care for over 2,000 terminally ill Londoners every year, and support their families, friends and carers. Trinity tries to give its patients as much independence, choice and control over their care as possible, and Trinity’s team goes above and beyond to make sure people at Trinity can spend their final days in the way they want.

This has included helping a patient to arrange a last-minute wedding at the hospice so that they could marry their partner. The ceremony was held in a room overlooking Trinity’s gardens and the couple invited their loved ones. Trinity’s nurses persuaded a local florist to donate flowers, and decorated the room to make sure everything was perfect for the big day.

Trinity’s nurses also helped a young patient to fulfill his life’s ambition of flying a plane, just a few days before he passed away. When the team learned of his wish, they looked into making it a reality and found a charity that had experience helping people with medical conditions to fly. A Trinity nurse went with him, not only to the airfield, but also in the plane itself to make sure that he received the care he needed while he realised his ultimate dream.
The team at Trinity have even helped a patient to return to their native Australia to spend their last days. The patient was at an advanced stage of illness, so Trinity’s staff needed to work quickly to ensure their wish could be fulfilled. It was difficult to get the right permissions to allow the patient to fly, but everyone worked tirelessly to cut through the red tape. A Trinity nurse accompanied the patient to Australia to ensure they received the best care on the flight. The patient was delighted to be reunited with family and friends, and was able to achieve their wish of dipping their feet in the Australian ocean before passing away just a few days later.

Trinity understands that acts of kindness like these make such a difference to patients and their loved ones at a difficult and upsetting time. But Trinity cannot continue this incredible work, which is provided completely free of charge, without the support of local people. Trinity is a charity that receives less than a third of its funding from the government. This means it relies on donations to raise over £7 million each year in order to continue its work.

SHThotNEWS

HONG KONG PHOOEY

No wonder British companies like us who truly make in the UK are having such a hard time of it when we have to contend with this!

Here are two examples of emails that have been sent to me. The first from a solicitor I met recently who is as enraged as I am about this kind of behavior, and the second an email from one of the companies who had approached me directly asking if they could supply garments to my business

How are they able to get away with this type of advertising? There should be legislation in place to stop this and to protect honest UK manufactures and suppliers.

I received this response below after explaining to the company that I only use UK suppliers. They were happy to tell me that they have lots of UK customers who remove the Made In China labels and sell their garments as British. This is a SCAM! This is happening all the time and nobody is doing anything about it! This is as bad, if not worse, than the scam emails attempting to get your bank details, or telling you that you have won millions!
This is a rip off. This is a lie!

We need to keep shouting about this in the hope that someone in a position of influence will hear us! This must stop and if you also believe as we do please let us know.

SHThotGROOM

SHThotGROOM

Susannah knows the importance of bespoke tailoring for the grooms who require quality and are not afraid of a splash of colour. Based in the heart of London, Hall’s vibrant and colourful showroom offers treats for both the modern and the traditional groom.

Build your look from classic morning suits with smart striped or tartan trousers (just a bit cheeky), to beautifully tailored suits created not just to fit and look fabulous but to last.

Be yourself, no need to follow the crowd, wear what suits you and reflects your personality.

The shirt should match the bride’s dress if ivory or white, alternatively choose something adventurous and colourful. Never mix ivory and white in the wedding party, someone will stand out for the wrong reason, don't let it be you! Order a bespoke shirt in the style and design that you want.

Don’t worry about finding that particular tie which matches the bridesmaids, if Hall doesn’t have it in stock she will make it for you. You can choose cufflinks for yourself and perhaps as gifts for your ushers too.

Remember it is all about you! But make sure you don’t out-do the bride!!!!

Susannah has always supported the traditional British craftsman and continues to fly the flag.

Susannah Hall Tailors needs YOU!

Susannah Hall Tailors needs YOU!

Over the last few years we have supported Trinity Hospice in a small way, donating a few second hand suits which they sell in one of their 21 London charity shops. This is in order for them to raise those all important funds which allow the hospice to continue its good work.

This year we would like to make a more significant contribution and we hope that whilst you are reading this you may decide that you want to get involved.

Trinity Hospice provides compassionate and expert end of life care to over 2,000 patients and their families a year in our south west and central London community. Their nurses provide their excellent care, both in the inpatient centre on Clapham Common or at home, providing patients with real choice about how they receive their care. Trinity’s care has, at its heart, an understanding of their individual patients and their needs.

Trinity’s care is available for as long as it is needed and is always completely free of charge, but with less than a third of their funding coming from the NHS, they rely on the generosity of their supporters to help raise the £6.6 million needed every year to continue their work. They simply wouldn’t exist without such amazing support.

So how can you help?

By sorting out your wardrobe! During April simply bring in your old suits that don’t fit any more, but are in good condition, and SHT will give you a £50 voucher as a thank you for your generosity. This voucher is to be used towards your next bespoke suit/jacket order. Your second hand suits will then be passed onto Trinity Hospice to raise funds to help make a dent in the £6.6 million that is required each year to enable these inspirational people to continue their amazing work.

We do hope that this April our combined support for Trinity Hospice will be hugely successful, and enable us to make this an annual event.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.
