The lights of tinsel town were sparkling a little brighter last week as the stars came out to honour film and television at the Golden Globes 2013. Held at the Beverley Hills Hotel, the event only added to our excitement for the biggest night of the year, the Academy Awards, now only a month away!
The Golden Globes gives us all an opportunity to be
oh so unashamedly shallow and once again cause an incredible amount of suit
envy, cue Bradley Cooper.
Cooper opted for a two
piece with a difference. Designed by Tom
Ford, the suit was created from recycled materials, the idea of Livia Firth,
wife of Colin. The suit was part of Livia’s Green Carpet Challenge where she
encourages designers to create pieces that are environmentally friendly. On her blog she writes, "The suit was European
spun and woven wool. As GCC fans will know, while we love the glitz and the
excitement of the red carpet, we are fascinated by the supply chain and this
project gave us the chance to create a beautiful fibre that stands the test
of time. Here at Susannah Hall we love a DJ with a story and the cut and fit of
Coopers is truly fabulous!
Orlando Bloom opted for Burberry, wearing a navy
textured wool dinner jacket with satin lapels, paired with an elegant white
shirt. It’s great to see that Bloom is
following Susannah Hall’s advice giving a great suit the shirt that it
deserves.
The A listers really are setting the trends for 2013
